Social Work Supervisor For Foster Care Assessment Program

The Harborview Medical Center Social Work Department has an outstanding opportunity for a Social Work Supervisor for the Foster Care Assessment Program to join the Harborview Abuse & Trauma Center (HATC).

Work Schedule:

  • Full-Time / 40 Hours per week
  • Day shift
  • This position is 100% remote

Position Highlights:

  • The Foster Care Assessment Program (FCAP) is responsible for assessing the health, safety, and well-being of children in out-of-home care while also providing legal permanency recommendations to the Department of Children and Family Services.
  • The written assessments and recommendations provided by FCAP are comprehensive reports developed for the Department of Children and Family Services and are often presented at Dependency Court Hearings.
  • The FCAP Supervisor is responsible for FCAP program oversight, quality assurance, and clinical supervision of FCAP staff.

Strong candidates will have at least 4 years of experience in assessing the safety, permanency, and well-being of children in the child welfare system. The preferred candidate will also have at least 2 years' experience supervising staff and/or managing programs.

Primary

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical and program consultation, management oversight, and monitoring of program outcomes to ensure that services are delivered in a timely manner in accordance with the Washington State DCYF standards and contract.
  • Facilitate periodic Review Team/Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings and communicate with consultants regarding program needs
  • Perform FCAP program-specific social worker duties, including completing assessments, consultations, and providing follow-up
  • Ensure that the content in the FCAP reports demonstrates a thorough analysis of child safety, permanency, and well-being
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to addressing systemic oppression in serving diverse populations.
  • Provide feedback and evaluation of identified goals and performance expectations of FCAP personnel
  • Report to state funders and DCYF administrators on program outcomes and any barriers to achieving outcomes

Desired:

  • A minimum of four years' experience in child welfare or a related field.
  • Experience in presenting and/or training on child welfare related topics.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather information for the purpose of providing a sophisticated written analysis of complex permanency dilemmas.
  • Experience supervising and/or managing a team/employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in collaborative work with DCYF and other community professionals and agencies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of foster care and permanency planning standards in the child welfare system.

Required Position

Qualifications:

A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education AND four years of full-time professional social work experience

Two years of this experience must have been in a health care setting.

OR

Equivalent education/experience.

Legal Requirement:

Registration as a Licensed as an Independent Clinical Social Workerby the State of Washington within 90 days of employment.
