Pre-Trial Services Case Coordinator

Overview

This position is primarily in person, with a potential single remote day per week after the probationary period, based on team schedules and business needs. It is eligible for an alternate work schedule: either a 4x10 (5:30 – 4:00) or a 5x8 (7:00 – 4:00) shift.

The Pre‑Trial Services Case Coordinator supports individuals in the Superior Court system, aiming to reduce reliance on jail, address disparities, and facilitate equitable pre‑trial release decisions. The coordinator manages a specialized caseload of people with significant mental health challenges, complex barriers, and high need for coordinated care, working closely with court‑related and community agencies.

• Interview, screen, and conduct preliminary investigations of individuals in county jail or at the office who are allegedly involved in felony, misdemeanor, or other jailable offenses; advise individuals of possible release from jail.
• Use and apply risk assessment tools to provide informed recommendations to the court.
• Monitor individuals released on pre‑trial release, ensuring compliance with court‑mandated conditions and recommending revocation if necessary.
• Work with court‑related agencies and community partners to determine eligibility for release and link individuals to appropriate services.
• Coordinate with behavioral health providers, housing and social‑service partners, and community treatment teams to support stabilization and continuity of care.
• Maintain regular communication with Forensic Navigators at DSHS to ensure timely service linkage and consistent information across systems.

• Relevant additional education or experience may substitute for the recruitment requirements.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• One or more years of progressively responsible experience in criminal justice services, including in‑person interviewing, assessment, and monitoring, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
