Pay Range: $30.68 - $37.29

Status: Full Time Part Time Regular Temporary

Job Summary:

This Eviction Prevention Case Manager position is a key member of the Chief Seattle Club team, responsible for providing culturally competent housing case management to our members. This position will report directly to the Housing Program Manager and requires sensitivity to the needs of homeless and low-income American Indians.

The Case Manager works with residents facing eviction due to rental arears, or needing assistance with utility payments The case manager position requires in-person meetings with members, application processing, and property management coordination. The Case Manager will work with residents on any barriers they may have that is preventing them from acquiring and keeping a permanent home

This position requires excellent oral and written/communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage a large caseload. Must work efficiently under pressure and creatively to resolve issues that arise. This position represents the organization with confidence and professionalism.

Essential Job Functions:

• Providescoordinatedserviceswithmultiple Chief Seattle Clubpartneringagencies . Expected to meet program performance objectives and productivity standards.
• The Eviction Prevention Case Managerwillhavearegularcaseloadof
  30households, many will cycle off through the year,so the yearly expectationofhouseholds served is 100 providing short-term and medium-term assistance based on individual household needs.
• Provideutilityassistancebymanagingsubsidiesandenrollingeligiblehouseholdsinto the City of Seattle’s utility discount program.
• Able to multi-taskand keep trackofevictionprevention andutilityassistance budgets; excel efficient,Worddocumentefficientfordeliverables,andproficientwithcomputing numbers.
• Provides initial intakesforincomingmembersasneeded.
• Determines member’s/client’s strengths and needs by establishing a safe trusting relationship with members/clients and CSC partnering agencies; assist in establishing a goal-oriented Individual Housing Plan.
• Maintains continuity of care by communicating changes in member condition to all relevantCSCpersonnel;documentingchangesandserviceplanevents;monitoring progress toward housing goals and adjusting services as required.
• Establishes a compassionate and respectful environment by practicing good communication skills;keepingmemberinformationconfidential;conductingselfin professional manner.
• Maintainandupdatedetail&progress notes,advocacywhenneededandotherduties as assigned but the management team.
• Mustbewillingto speakdirectlywithlandlordsonallrentalissues.
• Mustbeabletoconfidentlyandcalmlyhandletensephoneconversationswitheither landlords or community members.
• Maintain active engagement in promoting a safe work environment by following safety procedures and participating in required safety trainings relevant to their role.
