King County's Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) provides equitable opportunities for people to be healthy, happy, and connected to community. Largely through contracting with a trusted network of community-based agencies, DCHS administers over $1 billion in public funds a year to provide King County residents with much-needed services for youth and young adult education and employment, supports for children and their families, behavioral health prevention and treatment, housing and community development, veterans, older adults, women's program services, and developmental disabilities to help our county's most vulnerable residents and strengthen our communities.

DCHS envisions a welcoming community that is racially just, as the field of human services exists to undo and mitigate unfair structures. We seek to lead the way by working as respectful and responsible stewards for the King County community.
