In the Technical Strategy and Oversight (TSO) organization, our mission is to support customer choice, transparency, and value when it comes to cloud infrastructure. We’re embarking on ambitious new initiatives such as building innovative platforms, creating high‑performance data plane primitives, designing frameworks to support OCI developers, and launching a new service platform that will enable us to run the full variety of OCI services—including our most demanding, high‑performance, high‑availability services.

We are looking for engineers to join an incubation team that initiates, prototypes, and hands off new projects with broad business impact in OCI. This team is currently working on a long‑term incubation of a new platform designed to power OCI services. The platform will include low‑level execution runtimes, application management, and high‑level workflows for change management. Your role will challenge existing engineering assumptions, apply your expertise in highly performant, reliable software engineering, and help us bring OCI to the next level.

Seattle, WA;
Reston, VA; or Santa Clara, CA.

As a software engineer, you will collaborate with multiple teams to build the next generation OCI Service Platform. You will design, specify, and develop software for new projects, as well as perform tasks related to the design, development, and debugging of software applications or operating systems. You will play a key role in defining and improving standard practices and procedures and will be expected to get the right things done quickly and effectively to delight our customers.

• 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• BS/MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Strong grasp of computer science concepts (data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems fundamentals).
• Experience with software development, preferably in Java.
• Experience building and operating software as a service.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, cross‑functional team environment.
• Preferably, experience with OCI.
• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, and scalable, reliable workflows is a plus.

Hiring Range in USD from $79,200 – $178,100 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
