About the role
As a Automation Quality Engineer 1, you will make an impact by ensuring high‑quality software delivery through test automation, integration testing, and continuous quality improvements. You will be a valued member of the engineering and quality team and collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners across different geographical regions.
Responsibilities- Perform software integration testing and contribute to test automation frameworks.
- Analyze test failures and drive root‑cause resolution.
- Design, develop, and automate new test scenarios.
- Escalate and report key quality issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Collaborate regularly with distributed teams across global locations.

- 3+ years of professional work experience as a Software Development Engineer or Software Quality Engineer.
- Experience programming in Swift, Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Hands‑on test automation experience.
- Experience in test planning, test design, test authoring, and execution.
- Understanding of unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testing and their purposes.
- Strong analytical skills for diagnosing and addressing test failures.
- Ability to design scalable automated tests for new features.
- Experience interacting with global cross‑functional teams.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
The annual salary for this position is between $44,834 – $76,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
