Software Development Engineer, Weblab Amplified Learning

We enable teams to contribute, access, analyze, and learn from Weblab data at scale, and expand the lessons learned from experiments across the company. Learning is using prior experience to improve, so we use the data from past experiments to improve how experimentation is done  focus on data, tools and analyses that apply across many experiments, though we may build products that can be used with individual experiments as well.

A day in the life

We're going to help Amazon make better decisions by empowering analyses for A/B‑testing in Weblab systems to help teams make data‑driven decisions for their experiments. We will help Amazonians make the right decisions for our customers combining science, experimentation and data‑driven‑decision making. Our work will inform some of the biggest decisions at Amazon.

About the team

We have decades of combined experience on the team in many areas of science and engineering so it's a great environment in which to learn and grow. A/B testing is one of the hottest areas of research and development in the world today and this is a chance to learn how it works in the company known for pioneering its use.

Basic

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
  • 1+ years of designing and developing large‑scale, multi‑tiered, multi‑threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
  • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in computer science or equivalent
  • Knowledge of system performance, memory management, and parallel computing principles

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
