As a Software Development Engineer within the Product organization, you will be responsible for delivering the next suite of backend services that power the Pitch Book platform. You will be essential in helping to build exceptional solutions relied upon and used by thousands of Pitch Book customers every day and work with Pitch Book professionals around the world with the collective goal of delighting our customers and growing our business.

You will have the opportunity to solve a variety of challenges and issues, and the team will rely on you to exercise sound judgement to determine the appropriate action. You will continue to develop your expertise in the team's domain and be expected to apply learned techniques to future challenges. You will collaborate with external and internal stakeholders of different roles and backgrounds with the goal to resolve mutual problems.

Primary

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain components of Pitch Book's platform services. Hands-on development will be an integral part of the responsibilities
  • Implement well-designed, testable, and efficient code that meets product requirements, coding standards, performance, scalability, reliability, and the organization's goals and principles
  • Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and other internal stakeholders in an Agile environment
  • Provide technical guidance and perform code reviews for team members
  • Design and deliver on small projects end-to-end with little to no guidance
  • Provide support to applications in production in terms of deployment, troubleshooting, and incident management
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field
  • 2+ years of experience in Software Development or Engineering roles within a medium or large enterprise
  • 2+ years of experience with Python, Go, or a similar object-oriented language
  • 1+ years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Chef)
  • 1+ years of experience with containers and orchestration platforms, including Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience working within a development team in an Agile environment
  • Ability to be a team-player who can also work independently
  • Proficiency in RESTful API design
  • Proficiency in Git Ops and creation/management of CI/CD pipelines
  • Experienced with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience with distributed, scalable microservices and event-driven architectures
  • Experience with data storage, replication, caching and search technologies, such as Postgre
