Stub Hub is on a mission to redefine the live event experience on a global scale. We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Runtime team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain a suite of SDKs, services, shared packages, and tools used by other teams to elevate efficiency across our engineering organization.

About the team

The Platform Runtime team's mission is to establish an intuitive cross-language, performant runtime environment used across hundreds of services  focus on configuration management, connectivity, caching, and messaging.

Location:

Hybrid (3 days in office/2 days remote) – Century City, CA or Aliso Viejo, CA or New York, NY or Seattle, WA

What You Well Do:

• Design and develop SDKs, services, shared packages, and tools to enhance engineering efficiency and productivity.
• Develop an intuitive cross-language runtime environment that serves as a container for business/customer-facing services.
• Architect and implement high-performance, scalable services actively used by internal customers.
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in distributed caching and messaging, with understanding of associated design patterns.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify inefficiencies and propose scalable solutions and patterns.
• Drive initiatives to improve performance and scalability across the platform.
• Champion best practices in software development and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team culture where diverse perspectives are valued.

What You
18ve Done:

• 5-6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience building robust, mission-critical systems using languages such as C/C++, Java, C#, or other OOP languages.
• Expertise in designing and optimizing distributed systems, including microservices, caching, and messaging systems.
• Ability to analyze and improve system scalability, reliability, and performance metrics.
• Experience solving complex problems with significant business impact.
• Understanding of how systems interact with the production environment, including dependencies and platform primitives.
• Proven ability to learn additional languages, platforms, frameworks, and tools.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience owning projects from idea to production and mentoring junior engineers.

The anticipated gross base pay range for this role is $200,000 - $250,000 USD. Actual compensation varies by qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base salary is part of Stub Hubs total compensation, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
