Senior Security Programmer

Responsibilities

• Design and build new backend services or features that power Fortnite anti‑cheat or related security capabilities, and implement corresponding game code.
• Read, debug, and write code for Fortnite in C++ and associated backend services in Go.
• Proactively identify vulnerable components in the Fortnite game client or backend, communicate the problem and recommended solution, and implement it when appropriate.
• Influence others to maintain a security‑oriented mindset.
• Debug, modify, and optimize existing security systems for both the Fortnite game client and backend components.
• Ensure Fortnite is operating well for players and that services are resilient at scale; assist in diagnosing and resolving live issues.

• BSc in Computer Science/Software Programming or related subject – candidates without a degree are welcome if they have proven extensive hands‑on experience.
• Excellent knowledge and debugging skills in the C++ programming language.
• Fluency in Go, Java, C#, or similar programming language.
• Self‑starter who approaches challenges creatively and methodically, seeing them through to final resolution.
• Ability to code and design system frameworks, new APIs, and tools; versed in software programming principles.
• Understanding of online multiplayer video game architectures.
• Technical understanding of the structure and technology stacks of online service backends.
• User‑focused, passionate, solutions‑focused, and innovative traits.

This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including Washington).

Pay transparency:
Base pay depends on location and experience.
