Our Salesforce Database (SDB) team provides a highly available database for Salesforce applications. Within the large SDB team, we provide a highly durable and available distributed storage for public clouds. We are defining the next generation of trusted enterprise computing in the cloud. We're a fast-paced, metrics driven team. We're highly collaborative and work across all areas of our technology stack.

We live and breathe transactional systems, distributed systems and enterprise reliability, availability and scale.

The team is seeking a highly qualified and energetic Senior/Lead Software Engineer who will be responsible for working on development scalable, resilient and fault tolerant transactional and distributed systems. The Senior/Lead Software Engineer will be responsible both for design and hands-on implementation.

• Designing, developing scalable, resilient and fault tolerant transactional and distributed systems in enterprise production environments
• Developing in Java or C in a Unix/Linux environment with knowledge of object-oriented programming techniques and design patterns
• Using telemetry and metrics to drive operational excellence
• Learning quickly and delivering high quality code in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
• Writing functional and unit tests and helping review and test teammates' code
• Familiar with Agile development methodology and committed to continual improvement of team performance
• Effective communication, leadership, mentoring, and being a team player
• Inventive and creative; able to deliver incrementally and on time
• 5-9+ years of professional experience, or a M.Sc. in a relevant field with 3-7+ years of experience; experience with relational databases and/or distributed storage; GCP is a plus

Note:

Highly Available Distributed Systems Areas include highly scalable and durable data storage capabilities; understanding of distributed systems, system programming, clustering, and deploying code in public cloud environments; familiarity with Kubernetes and public cloud APIs is desirable.

Some roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits. The base salary ranges: $117,200-$260,100; in select SF/NYC areas $141,200-$285,800. This base salary range excludes bonuses, equity, and benefits.
