Position: Systems Development Engineer, Platform Engineering and Emerging Technologies (PEET)

Overview

Do you enjoy helping U.S. Intelligence Community and Defense agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve unique technical problems? Would you like to do this using the latest cloud computing technologies and become a core part of the largest cloud infrastructure on the planet? AWS is seeking an ADC Engineer to own and advance mission critical services in our Amazon Dedicated Clouds (ADC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production software issues
  • Developing monitoring solutions
  • Performing software maintenance and configuration
  • Implementing the fix for internally developed code (Perl, Ruby, C/C++, JAVA, Python)
  • Updating, tracking and resolving technical challenges
  • Working alongside development on AWS projects
  • Updating/enhancing our current software
  • Automation of support processes and documentation of our systems

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling)
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, Ruby
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with distributed systems at scale
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
