Engineer - Merchandise Planning

Summary

Software engineer on the Merchandise Planning team responsible for building APIs and web applications that support business-critical planning systems. Work with Java, Spring Boot, cloud platforms, containerization, and modern CI/CD to design, implement, and maintain scalable services. Hybrid role based in Seattle requiring on-site presence four days per week.

• Design, develop, and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and deployment automation.
• Participate in design and code reviews to ensure scalable, maintainable, well-tested solutions.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and support cloud infrastructure and Dev Ops practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, program managers, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Work on proof-of-concept implementations and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Provide on-call support and participate in root cause analysis for production issues.

• 0–2 years of professional engineering experience; recent graduates welcome.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong object-oriented design skills and proficiency in Java; knowledge of Python a plus.
• Experience with RESTful architecture, microservices, JSON, and distributed systems concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD tooling.
