As an SDE in Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3), you will solve exciting problems at incomparable scale. You will help build systems that manage trillions of objects in storage, retrieve them in milliseconds, across tens of thousands of hosts, all while maintaining % of data durability. Amazon S3 powers organizations globally. You will work with teams to deliver changes that delight customers and improve their lives.
Keyresponsibilities
- Build services that persist and retrieve customer data as part of S3's Blob Storage team.
- Own the foundation of S3 services, designing and implementing new components and improvements.
- Collaborate with other engineers to deliver features, fix bugs, add testing, and improve operational tooling.
- Participate in operational investigations, root‑cause analysis, and documentation of solutions.
- Maintain high standards of test automation, verification, design, and code reviews.
- Support on‑call rotation, minimizing paging by providing robust engineering practices.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of design or architecture experience for new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, scaling).
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience (coding standards, reviews, source control, build processes, testing, operations).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

The base salary range for this position is - USD annually. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. Final compensation includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
