Principal Engineer - Discovery, Marketing & Loyalty

Summary

Senior technical leader responsible for architecting and delivering scalable, reliable solutions across discovery, marketing, and loyalty platforms. This role drives technical strategy, champions operational excellence, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver omnichannel customer experiences.

• Architect scalable, high-availability systems and APIs for customer-facing e-commerce platforms.
• Lead technical strategy for loyalty and marketing ecosystems, influencing next-generation capabilities.
• Drive engineering best practices for distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Improve observability, telemetry, monitoring, and automation to increase reliability and resiliency.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship through design reviews, code reviews, and architectural guidance; promote AI-enabled tooling adoption.

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with significant focus on e-commerce or customer-facing applications.
• 4+ years of technical leadership as an individual contributor influencing engineering teams and technical direction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience; master’s preferred.
• Proven experience designing distributed systems, microservices, event-driven processing, and high-throughput architectures.
• Expertise with cloud platforms, modern technology stacks, and building production-grade systems with high availability.
• Strong commitment to operational excellence, observability, automated testing, and deployment automation.
