Overview
As an SDE in Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3), you will solve exciting problems at incomparable scale. You will help build systems that manage trillions of objects in storage, retrieve them in milliseconds, across tens of thousands of hosts, all while maintaining % (that’s 11 nines) of data durability. Amazon S3 powers businesses, nonprofits, and transformative organizations across the globe that make the lives of people better daily.
You will work with teams of talented engineers and leaders to hand deliver changes to our system that delight our customers, and in turn improve the lives of their customers.
- Build the services that persist and retrieve customer data. The services you own are the foundation of S3, and operating them at the scale of S3 provides challenging technical problems that you will solve.
- Be responsible for the design and implementation of new components and improvements to services within our space, and work with other engineers on your team to deliver.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle with a focus on reliability, testing, and code quality. We maintain a high bar for test automation, verification processes, design, and code reviews.
- Contribute to on-call rotations and resolve issues to minimize production impact, with the understanding that operator intervention is a last line of defense.
- Write code and solve problems at scale, deliver features and fix bugs, add testing to existing code, and improve operational tooling.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to design new components that shape the future of the system and grow to be a subject matter expert in your domain.
