Aboutthe Role
The USA Regional Experiences team’s mission is to grow the U.S. remittance send business by improving the customer experience across the moments that matter most – onboarding, payment, and disbursement. As an engineer on this team, you’ll apply your front‑end‑leaning, full‑stack skillset to the customer challenges that matter most for growing Remitly’s U.S. business, delighting the customer segments most critical to that growth.
YouWill
- Develop high‑quality, reusable, and scalable code involving multiple technologies (React Native, Type Script, Go, Java/Kotlin, AWS), delivering well‑tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions with a customer‑centric mindset.
- Develop prototypes rapidly to solve complex problems.
- Leverage modern AI‑powered development tools to deliver faster while maintaining quality and security standards.
- Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, designers, and analysts to achieve outstanding customer experiences.
- Contribute to the architecture and technical roadmap of our software systems, balancing short‑term goals with long‑term scalability and maintainability.
- Contribute to code reviews, sprint rituals, hiring, and mentoring.
- Be obsessed with driving the customer’s best experience – have a well‑informed point of view and offer creative and swift solutions.
- Report to the Engineering Manager of the USA Regional Experiences team.
- Strong computer science, web, and native app fundamentals, and knowledge of design patterns.
- 3+ years of software development experience.
- 1+ years of React or React Native development experience.
- Professional experience with one of the following programming languages:
Type Script, JavaScript, Kotlin, Java, Go. - Knowledge of basic architecture, systems design, and agile practices.
- Excellent collaboration skills.
The starting base salary range for this position is typically $144,000 - $180,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our company and equity is part of the total compensation plan.
