Software Engineer - Embedded Systems | Marine Autonomous Vehicle

We are seeking a senior embedded software engineer to maintain and advance the C-based control systems inside our autonomous ocean‑profiling floats. This role supports autonomous, buoyancy‑driven ocean floats deployed permanently  engineer will split time between maintaining existing float control software and driving new R&D development, working directly with hardware on the bench to build, test, and refine bare‑metal C code running on ARM microcontrollers.

Additionally, the engineer will own the decoder software that supports customer data delivery.

• Senior‑level experience writing embedded C for resource‑constrained, low‑memory systems
• Direct experience programming ARM microcontrollers
• Working knowledge of Linux‑based embedded systems (required)
• Bare‑metal/boot loader‑level development experience (no OS) strongly preferred
• Comfortable working at the software‑hardware boundary using schematics, datasheets, and lab equipment
• Java experience (used on shore‑side software)

• Background in marine robotics, autonomous vehicles, or other harsh‑environment engineering a plus
