Engineering Manager

Reports To: Vice President of Engineering / CTO

9series is an AI-first IT services company headquartered in Ahmedabad with an engineering team of approximately 100 professionals. We serve clients across the United States, South Africa, and Australia, delivering modern digital engineering solutions powered by Artificial Intelligence.

Beyond client services, we are building AI-native products and investing heavily in Agentic AI, LLMs, AI-assisted software development, and intelligent automation. As a member of the Anthropic Claude Partner Network, we encourage continuous learning and AI adoption across our engineering organization.

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager who enjoys leading teams while remaining technically involved.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mentoring engineers, driving engineering excellence, solving complex technical challenges, and delivering high-quality software for global clients.

You will lead one or more engineering teams, collaborate with Product, Delivery, and Client stakeholders, and contribute to the organization's AI-first engineering culture.

• Lead and mentor engineering teams delivering client and internal products.
• Drive engineering best practices, code quality, architecture, and technical excellence.
• Conduct code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Delivery Managers, and Solution Architects.

• Participate in architecture decisions and technical planning.
• Solve complex technical challenges and production issues.
• Contribute hands‑on to critical features whenever required.
• Ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable software design.
• Drive engineering standards across projects.

• Mentor and coach software engineers.
• Conduct performance reviews and technical feedback sessions.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and career development.
• Promote a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

• Manage sprint planning, estimations, and execution.
• Collaborate with Delivery teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Monitor engineering metrics, quality, and productivity.
• Identify delivery risks and proactively resolve them.

We are looking for someone who remains technically strong while effectively leading teams.

• 8–12 years of software engineering experience.
• 2–4 years leading engineering teams.

• Python and/or Type Script
• React.js and Node.js
• REST APIs and Microservices

Experience working with:

• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Lang Graph / CrewAI / Auto Gen

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience working with international clients.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum.
