AWS is building Kiro Autonomous Agent — a frontier agent that independently tackles development tasks, maintains context across interactions, and continuously learns from its work. This is a fundamental shift in how software gets built and maintained, and we’re looking for engineers who want to shape this transformation.
Key Job Responsibilities- Shape the technical direction and architecture of the Kiro Autonomous Agent service.
- Work directly with customers to uncover real-world development challenges and translate them into product capabilities, staying true to Amazon’s customer‑obsessed approach.
- Build and operate production systems using industry‑leading CI/CD practices to ensure reliability and performance at scale.
- Make architectural decisions that enable the agent to learn and maintain context while meeting AWS’s standards for scale, reliability, security, and compliance.
- Develop features that transform how software is built, balancing innovation with operational excellence.
- Own projects, define technical direction, and help shape how the team operates from day one.

Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
Base salary range: – USD annually (USA, WA, Seattle). The full Amazon package includes sign‑on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
