Junior Software Engineer

- Bridgewater, New Jersey or Topeka, Kansas. Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the U.S. life and annuities insurance technology and services industry is seeking a Jr. .Net Developer.

Ability to commute or relocate to Bridgewater, NJ 08807 before starting work.

• Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth
• Develop new features and infrastructure development in support of rapidly emerging business and project requirements
• Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design
• Work with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities
• Validate requirements and designs for custom built software projects
• Work across teams to define, drive, and facilitate the creation and adoption of platform architecture and standards
• Engage with inspiring designers and front-end engineers, and collaborate with leading back-end engineers as we create reliable APIs
• Collaborate across time zones via MS Teams, Git Hub comments, documents, and frequent video conferences

• 1+ years of software development experience with at least 6+ months of experience in designing Backend/full stack development
• Graduate degree in technology, business, finance, or accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering
• Experience building web applications
• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of C, C++, or C# programming languages
• Experience with databases such as SQL
• Excellent debugging and optimization skills
• Unit and integration testing experience
• Expert level experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS
• Excellent work ethic, ability to work and travel independently, and advanced strategic thinking skills
• Expert level communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills, as well as troubleshooting skills
• Ability to influence, lead, and work as part of a cross-functional, global team
