AWS Cryptography and Identity are building and delivering the next generation of cloud computing security. We are innovating new ways of building massively scalable distributed security systems involving identity management, federation, web services security, and much more. We enable our customers to control some of the most sensitive secrets on the Internet.
In this role, you will join a team of highly talented engineers operating Cryptography and Identity systems. This is a great opportunity to have direct impact to some of the largest-scaled systems in the world and work with some of the smartest people in the industry, while having a huge impact. A successful systems development engineer joining the team will do much more than write code and triage problems.
You will work with Amazon’s largest and most demanding customers to address specific needs across a full suite of services. You will dive deep into technical issues and work diligently to improve the customer experience.

You will operate systems with a dev-ops model of service engineering, ensuring continuous service availability and proactive problem resolution.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, Ruby
- 2 years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Knowledge of fundamentals of networking, security, databases (relational or No
SQL), operating systems (Unix, Linux, and/or Windows) - Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment
- 1 year of development/programming/scripting language (Python/Java/Bash/Perl) experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience taking a leading role in building complex software or computing infrastructure that has been successfully delivered to customers
This position requires that the candidate currently possesses and maintains an active TS/SCI security clearance. After hiring, the selected candidate must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is listed above. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
