Systems Development Engineer, AWS Hardware Engineering

We are seeking an Systems Development Engineer to join our Fleet Automation Software Team (FAST) within the Hardware Engineering Services organization. In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining services, systems and operational infrastructure that enable delivery of hardware and firmware to AWS data centers globally. You will collaborate with cross‑functional product vertical and firmware development teams to solve challenging technical problems and drive system designs that shape the future of our infrastructure.

You will stand up operational infrastructure to manage services and systems at scale across multiple geographical regions.

As a Sys Dev in FAST, you’ll have a front‑row seat to innovation in Hardware Engineering Services, contributing to the development and scaling of hardware and firmware deployment orchestration systems. Your work will enable the seamless delivery of low‑level software/firmware to meet the increasing demands of our customers.

• 2+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience
• 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands‑on systems engineering experience
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Power Shell, Ruby

• Experience with Power Shell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
• Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
• Knowledge of server hardware and components

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
