Software Development Engineer II - Full-Stack - Front-End Focus

Our Technology Team partners with teams across Expedia Group to create innovative products, services, and tools. We build a singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning to deliver secure, personalized experiences.

We are the Strategic Partnerships & Affiliates team in the Expedia Product & Technology division. We develop a next‑generation B2B partnership platform for demand partners ranging from enterprises to creators.

This role focuses on building modern, scalable user experiences using React.js and Type Script, and contributing to backend services in Java or Kotlin.

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable frontend applications and user‑facing platform capabilities.
• Develop intuitive, performant web experiences for a wide range of B2B partners.
• Contribute to backend services and APIs using Java or Kotlin.
• Participate in system, low‑level design, API design, and data modeling.
• Collaborate with engineers, product, and partner teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Own components and services, troubleshoot production issues, and improve operational health.
• Write high‑quality, secure, well‑tested code, and participate in code reviews.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML‑enabled solutions.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Type Script, React.js, GraphQL.
• Working proficiency in Java or Kotlin.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of software development experience with production systems.
• Experience building frontend applications in a modern web stack.
• Experience owning components or services within a team.
• Proficiency in software engineering fundamentals and system design.
• Experience developing reliable, scalable applications across multiple technical areas.

• Experience building software for advertising technology or high‑scale platforms.
• Demonstrated strength in frontend engineering with React.js and Type Script.
• Experience contributing to architecture or design discussions for frontend, APIs, or data models.
• Improving service quality through observability, automation, performance tuning.
• Familiarity with AI‑driven systems and applying AI/ML concepts in production.
• Using data and metrics to inform engineering decisions.

This role is available only in Seattle, WA. Employees must be in the office at least three days a week. Relocation assistance is not available.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $ to $. The maximum potential salary is $ based on performance. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
