THE ROLE Our client is seeking experienced .NET Developers for a three-month API modernization initiative. The team will upgrade APIs built on older versions of .NET to the latest supported version, address compatibility and security issues, and ensure the modernized services remain stable and reliable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Upgrade existing APIs from legacy .NET versions to the latest supported version.  
• Review existing code to identify outdated frameworks, libraries, and dependencies.  
• Resolve compatibility issues, bugs, and security vulnerabilities created or uncovered during the upgrade.  
• Refactor code where necessary while preserving existing functionality.  
• Test upgraded APIs to confirm performance, reliability, and expected behavior.  
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues throughout the modernization process.  
• Document technical changes and completed upgrades.  
• Collaborate with developers and technical leadership in a distributed team environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years of professional .NET development experience.  
• Strong experience with C#, ASP.NET, and REST APIs.  
• Experience upgrading or modernizing legacy .NET applications.  
• Understanding of API design, authentication, error handling, and security practices.  
• Experience troubleshooting dependency and framework compatibility issues.  
• Familiarity with Git and standard code-review processes.  
• Strong testing, debugging, and problem-solving skills.  
• Ability to work independently and deliver within a fast-paced project timeline.  
• Ability to provide consistent overlap with required U.S. business hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with large-scale .NET or API modernization projects.  
• Familiarity with automated API and unit testing.  
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.  
• Previous experience working as part of an offshore development team.
