Application Development Manager
Help define requirements, then design, code, test, implement and support critical business applications.
Technical Qualifications- Demonstrated working knowledge of Power Builder (version 10 or higher preferred), Oracle (version 8 or higher preferred), Microsoft SQL Server (version 2005 or higher).
- Skilled in stored procedures, views, temporary tables, user-defined functions and relational data models.
- Proficient in T-SQL; query tuning is a plus.
- Familiarity with database tools such as TOAD or other Oracle database tools.
- Experience with reporting writing tools, e.g., SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Experience with .NET, C#, Visual Studio 2008, Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (TFS) / Visual Source Safe (VSS), Visio, MS Office 2003 and above.
- Understanding of, and willingness to work within, a defined SDLC.
- Understanding of QA principles; ability to unit-test code before delivery to integrated testing and formal QA.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully.
- Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and ability to monitor own work to ensure quality and apply feedback.
- Adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Identify, assess, and communicate business risk on production support and project initiatives to all levels of the organization.
- Works closely with other developers, project managers, business analysts, and QA analysts to define, code, test, implement and support high-quality reports.
- Performs unit and system testing on each assignment.
- Provides accurate time estimates for all development assignments.
- Collaborates with IT and business resources to identify the best and most cost-effective solutions for the business.
- Willing and able to work on both projects and production support efforts.
- Willingly shares technical knowledge with others.
- Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge within areas of responsibility.
