Senior Engineer

Metric Story is disrupting web and mobile analytics. With current platforms, it is painful to set up analytics, create reports, and finally get insights out of the reports. Our goal is to make it easy for companies to capture and analyze customer data without having to code or understand SQL queries. To do this, we are creating a natural language search engine that uses machine learning to find insights that are relevant for each customer.

The founders of Metric Story have deep domain knowledge and have architected the analytics for Starbucks, GoPro, Princess Cruises, Expedia, ASICS, and Yelp. We are a Techstars powered company and you will be our first senior engineer and have real ownership, responsibility, and impact on the business. The perfect candidate is a senior / lead level engineer with years of experience in building and maintaining a web app that loves architecting complex systems.

This position requires solving hard problems and is focused on writing scalable code to capture and analyze big data with weekly code releases. The candidate will be responsible for hiring and scaling the engineering team.

• Our stack is NodeJS, DynamoDB, MongoDB, D3.js, Angular, Redis, Amazon Redshift, Amazon EC2, and plain vanilla Java script.
• 4 - 6 Years Full Stack Developer on a high volume web app or api platform
• CS or related engineering degree with solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Experience in hiring and growing high quality engineering teams
• Experience in exporting and cleaning large amounts of data from a No
  
  SQL store to Red Shift
• Expert level knowledge of Java script and client side frameworks such as Angular
• Experience in building APIs and scalable web apps in either NodeJS or Rails.
• Managing EC2, load balancing, autoscaling, backups, uptime procedures, and launch configurations. This includes continuous deployments with unit test coverage and black box testing.
