Head Varsity Football Coach Reports to Athletic Director

Position Overview:

Bishop Blanchet High School is seeking a Head Varsity Football Coach for the  season. Applicants with previous coaching experience at the HS level, 21 years or older, possessing a valid Washington State driver's license, and current First Aid/CPR/AED certification are preferred. This position reports to the Athletic Director.

Anticipated work demands:
  • Regular Season:
    August 19 – December 5
  • Off Season:
    December – April (Weight training and conditioning as needed for program development)
  • May – July: WIAA approved spring/summer practices and team camp
  • Non-league (2 year cycle) schedule determined by Athletic Director and Head Coach
Responsibilities will include:
Staff Responsibilities
  • Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by staff. Designs conferences, clinics and staff meetings to ensure staff awareness of the overall program.
  • Trains and informs staff; encourages professional growth by encouraging clinic attendance according to local policy.
  • Establish and coordinate the selection process for the Football teams.
  • Coordinates duties, responsibilities and evaluates the performance of each Football coach with the building athletic administrator.
Organizational, Communication and Public Relation Duties
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive long-term vision for the football program, including culture, discipline standards, and performance goals.
  • Schedule, organize, direct and supervise practice sessions.
  • Foster a transparent relationship with families, providing clear updates on schedules, safety protocols, and team policies.
  • Conduct pre-season orientation programs for parents, athletes and coaches.
Administrative Duties
  • Distribute team rosters to the Athletic Office.
  • Determine and procure team awards.
  • Complete required state association rules exams, training, compliance and all building/district training.
  • Make sure all staff, including themselves, to be compliant with certification required by the WIAA.
  • Follows Bishop Blanchet athletic eligibility rules and regulations.
  • Work with the AD in the supervision and control of the Football team budgetary accounts.
  • Accountable for all equipment and submits fines for the cost of any equipment lost or not returned. Arrange for issuing, storing and reconditioning of equipment and submits annual inventory and current records.
  • Running and facilitating summer camp opportunities for middle school participants.
Compensation:

$6000-$6750

This position is not benefits eligible.

We offer competitive stipends that are paid in one installment, half way through the competition season. Additional compensation can be made by engaging in summer camp offerings. We also offer access to professional development and BBHS Athletics Apparel.
