GENERAL SUMMARY

General Summary:
Provide support to recreation staff for the development and implementation of the department's special events.

NOTE:
Hours vary dependent on the event schedule. Hours will not exceed 1040 each year.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Offer on-site help with event set-up and take-down, information and material distribution at the event and event activity support.

Purchase event supplies.

Create/update event materials.

Assist with event planning by securing facilities and contacts with performers.

Assist with recruiting volunteers.

Assist with creating/updating event signage, banners and directional signs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be 18 years or older
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Commitment to excellent customer service.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Computer experience, preferably in Max Galaxy, Word, Excel and Publisher.
• Able to lift 30 pounds.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification required, onsite training will be provided if not certified
• Employment contingent upon successfully passing State/Federal pre-employment background checks.

Environmental Conditions
Community center/indoor and outdoor recreational facility environment; may travel from site to site; exposure to computer screen, noisy, potentially hostile environments; inclement weather conditions; schedule may vary including evenings and weekends.

Physical conditions
Moderate to light lifting and carrying.
