Summary
The Public Health Distribution Center operates within the Finance and Administrative Services Division (FASD) of Public Health – Seattle & King County and is organizationally aligned under the Contracts, Procurement & Real Estate Services (CPRES) section. CPRES provides leadership and oversight for contracts, procurement, and real estate functions, while the Distribution Center manages the department’s logistics operations, including deliveries, route services, warehouse functions, and transportation support to ensure clinics and public health programs receive supplies, specimen transport, pharmacy deliveries, deposits, and interoffice mail services necessary to maintain daily operations.
As part of this administrative structure, the Distribution Center plays a critical operational role in supporting public health services across King County. The County Delivery Driver supports the daily operations of King County Public Health facilities and partner organizations by picking up and delivering a wide range of materials throughout King County. Typical items include interoffice mail, pharmaceuticals, lab specimens, warehouse supplies, and receipts.
This role requires the ability to safely lift at least 60 pounds, operate a pallet jack and hand truck, and drive a full-size cargo van in both city and rural traffic conditions. The driver is responsible for loading the vehicle according to a scheduled delivery route, following verbal and written instructions, and maintaining strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
to Equity and Social Justice
Named after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., King County is a vibrant international community with residents that represent countries from around the world. It is a region with increasing diversity that cherishes the traditions of many cultures. The county government has a deep commitment to equity and social justice and advancing practices, strategies, and policies that promote fairness, justice, and opportunity for all.
King County has adopted a pro‑equity agenda to advance regional change and ensure that residents from all communities are incorporated into our emergency planning and public outreach efforts. We recognize that structural racism consists of principles and practices that cause and justify an inequitable distribution of rights, opportunities, and experiences across racial groups. Since declaring racism a public health crisis, King County and Public Health have committed to being intentionally anti‑racist and accountable to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color communities.
