Overview
The Marine Division with King County Metro Transit is hiring for a Marine Oiler for the Water Taxi team. Oilers work onboard Water Taxi vessels based out of the Pier 50 terminal in Seattle, performing preventative maintenance and repair of operating machinery, vessels and vessel systems, and marine facilities to ensure safe and on-time service for passengers and crew. This position supports the County's goal of providing reliable access to the downtown core via the Vashon Island and West Seattle service routes.
King County Water Taxi System:
King County has operated Water Taxi services since October 2009. The Marine Division operates Water Taxi ferries on two Puget Sound routes from Pier 50 in downtown Seattle: to West Seattle and to Vashon Island.
The Water Taxi provides year-round service seven days a week, 11 to 17 hours daily. Kitsap County currently provides additional passenger-only ferry service to Kingston, Bremerton and Southworth, using the King County passenger-only facility in Seattle.
