Purpose
Specialist – Yard Operations is responsible for the effective daily coordination and monitoring of delivery activities through timely and accurate dispatch of trailers into and out of the yard.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements- One year of relevant work experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and logical thinking.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure.
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
- Yard Management System experience preferred.
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently, and/or within a team, across all levels and diverse cultures.
- Must pass pre-employment background check.
- Check‑in/out truck drivers using the Yard Management System.
- Coordinate warehouse and transportation shipping schedules.
- Perform inbound trailer inspections to ensure compliance with security protocol.
- Handle and resolve conflicts.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
- Other duties may be assigned as appropriate and in accordance with business needs.
This position is hourly and may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week. Working hours are subject to change due to business needs and may require a flexible shift pattern (am and/or pm). The employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment with moving vehicles. The noise level is typically moderate to noisy.
Physical/SensoryRequirements
Medium work force required: ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20–30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee will use hands and fingers to handle or feel. Occasional standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Moderate exposure to outdoor conditions including excessive heat, cold, humidity, slippery or uneven surfaces, and working around machinery or heavy equipment.
