Once our milk is processed into products, like cheese and an assortment of beverages, our team ensures successful delivery to our consumers 365 days a year.
In this role, the Transportation Planner is responsible for scheduling the shipment of raw milk supply from our farms and by-product milk commodities to our plants and 3rd party customers. The Transportation Planner plays a key role in ensuring successful movement of our core product by partnering with our third-party carriers in order to execute pickup and delivery on time.

What You Will Do:
* Identify cost-effective and efficient transportation routes for dairy products and resolve issues related to transportation of the product.
* Coordinate customer orders and requirements for load scheduling by utilizing software tools and factoring in elements such as geographic regions, delivery schedules and product volumes to maximize truckload efficiency.
* Develop schedules that balance member, plant and customer requirements within the network while optimizing load efficiency and ensuring profitability.
* Maintain clear and effective communication with haulers; provide daily support and ensure timely pickup and delivery of all loads.
* Coordinate with haulers and both plant operations and customers to address routine shipment or service issues, manage order changes, reconcile shipment plans and ensure all parties are informed of important updates.
* Assist in resolving on-time delivery issues and improving performance by collaborating with customers and engaging all affected parties to identify solutions for problems such as incorrect shipments, product overages or shortages and missed delivery windows.
* Adjust and manage the shipment plan in response to changes in manufacturing supply and demand, as well as external factors such as weather, traffic and other unforeseen circumstances.
* Ensure all transactions are properly tracked and accurately entered into relevant systems. Perform daily reconciliation of assigned pickups and receipts with customers, haulers, members and other stakeholders.
* Verify that plant managers, staff, suppliers, customers and haulers have accurately documented, reported and entered all necessary product and freight information into the appropriate systems.
* Investigate and document new or recurring network issues, propose effective solutions, monitor ongoing performance and provide expert guidance to the manager as needed or as issues arise.
* Audit and code carrier freight invoices for accuracy and proper accounting classification.
* Discuss the status of weekly activities and transactions with management and update.
What You Will Bring:
* Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or other closely related field, or equivalent education and experience, or 4-6 years of relevant work experience.
* Experience managing inbound or outbound logistics in the food and beverage and/or transportation industry.
* Experience in a customer or supplier facing role.
* Understanding and knowledge of the transportation industry.
* Proficient in MS Excel and Word, with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems
