Role description
Seattle base Chief Pilot for FAA Part 91 corporate flight department operating three aircraft from two bases.
Our Chief Pilot at the Seattle base is retiring at the end of May 2026. We would like to identify a replacement candidate soon, to provide a smooth transition for our people and seamless operation at the Seattle base.
Job Functions / Responsibilities- Reports to the Director of Aviation
- Direct supervisor for five Seattle-based pilots
- Management teammate with the Denton Chief Pilot and the Director of Maintenance
- Be accessible to all department employees.
- Remain informed of the latest developments in the business aviation community, 14
CFR, federal, state, local and foreign regulations affecting operations. - Actively participate in management of the department Safety Management System (SMS).
- Revise and facilitate compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and checklists.
- Maintain digital and hard-copy manuals and documentation for aircraft operation.
- Supervise Initial and Recurrent flight crew training. Manage business relationships with our training providers.
- Coordinate weekly with the Scheduler regarding crew scheduling and training, aircraft licensing, etc.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Complete annual departmental and corporate training.
- Work a nonstandard schedule.
- Fly approximately 2/3 of a line pilot schedule. The Director will fly the remaining 1/3.
- International and possible overseas travel.
- Other aviation management duties as assigned.
- Working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, pushing and pulling.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must have the right to live and work in the United States
- Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
- Current FAA First Class medical certificate.
- Multi Engine Land (MEL) rating and appropriate type rating.
- Current Pilot in Command (PIC) proficiency endorsements (FAR 61.58).
- Minimum 5000 hours total flight time.
- 3000 hours Turbine powered multi-engine.
- Speak and understand radio telephony communications as per ICAO Annex 1.
- Ability to pass TSA and Port of Seattle background screening for and ramp driving privileges.
- Valid passport and driver’s license.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Self-starter, with a team-oriented nature
- Supervisory experience.
- Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, adaptability
- Excellent follow-through and responsiveness.
- Environmental awareness and stewardship.
- Current Gulfstream G280 type rating.
- Flight Instructor / Training Captain experience in large turbojet aircraft.
