Purpose

Expedite and route the movement of incoming and outgoing cargo and freight shipments in airline, trucking terminals, and shipping docks. Communicate and receive orders from customers and arrange pickup of freight and cargo for delivery to loading platform. Prepare and examine bills of lading to determine shipping charges and tariffs. Process export shipments accurately and timely, in compliance with U.S. export regulations and customer expectations.

  • Retirement Plan: 401(k) plan with the current employer matching fifty cents for each employee dollar, subject to the current vesting schedule.
  • Student Loan Assistance: Eligible after three months of continuous employment. Company monthly contribution of $437.50, not exceeding $5,250 annually. Total maximum annual amount for both Student Loan Assistance and Tuition Reimbursement is $5,250.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: Eligibility after three months continuous employment. Reimbursement limited to $5,250 per employee per year.
  • Wellness Day: Eligible for one wellness day for an annual physical exam per year, subject to required documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Enter shipment data into the computer system to generate required documents and labels, apply rates and charges, arrange export clearance through U.S. Customs, and track shipments with carriers from origin to destination.
  • Arrange pick‑up of shipments from customers or vendors to Kintetsu World Express locations and transfer shipments to carriers.
  • Arrange flights with airlines for customer shipments and provide flight information and shipment details to customers.
  • Print and assemble documents for shipments; print and apply cargo labels.
  • Close Master Air Waybill (MAWB) and check entry data of MAWB and House Air Waybill (HAWB) for corrections; revise as needed.
  • Issue and close pouch MAWB’s for shipments being tendered to airlines.
  • Inspect freight visually, ensuring it has the necessary stickers for correct shipping.
  • Create invoices for customer shipments, third‑party shipments, and freehouse billings.
  • Provide service and support to customers and overseas offices regarding shipment status, transit, or irregularities.
  • Maintain and update customer templates, pre‑alert distribution lists, and new customer IDs.
  • Run reports to track milestones as required for the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Create and update non‑conformance reports to maintain QMS standards.
  • Create and update operations and customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Assist supervisor or manager on Request For Quote (RFQ) rate or service data preparation on a yearly basis.

  • Skills:

    Adequate typing skills (30–40 wpm), computer literacy, familiarity with basic arithmetic.
  • Special attributes:
    Ability to lift objects unassisted up to 50 pounds, attention to detail, multi‑tasking.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Education/Certification:

    Dangerous Goods (DG) certification, TSA and IATA knowledge/training.
  • Experience:

    Air export experience.
