CDL-A Delivery Driver; Tractor Trailer

Position: CDL-A Delivery Driver (Tractor Trailer)
Summary:

Drives truck with a capacity of more than 25 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.

Seattle, WAPay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour DOE Overtime Available:
Paid at time and a half $2,500 signing bonus paid on the 1st paycheck issued $2,500 retention bonus after 90 days of employment (must meet attendance and expectations set) Job Type: Full-Time

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)Actively participate in Seaport Steel’s safety program

Review load boards and verify scheduled deliveries and pickups

Inspect truck and equipment prior to use Inspect materials to ensure accuracy with shipping documentation

Determine load readiness and make adjustments for safety and compliance

Properly secure loads for transport

Deliver and pick up materials according to assigned routes

Work efficiently and manage time effectively

Maintain respectful and professional interactions with others

Ensure accuracy and quality in all work; identify opportunities for improvement

Complete tasks in a timely manner

Qualifications

Education/ExperienceCDL Class A driver’s license and completed truck driving courses with a certificate of completion with at least two-year related experiences and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Math Ability Ability to add and subtract and read a tape measure

Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Eroad software or the wiliness to learn.
