Inventory Purchasing Specialist II - Brightwater

King County Wastewater Treatment Division inventory purchasing specialists manage over 15,000 unique parts in secured stores to be available when requested and provide procurement services to the trades for all other non‑inventory items. This position is responsible for overall material readiness of all equipment at the Brightwater WWTP through the procurement and dispensing of critical spare parts and materials.

• Shipping and receiving
• Inventory management
• Maintain computerized internal purchasing and inventory records and information system
• Work with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies and billing for accuracy
• Purchasing goods and services

• Knowledge of basic warehousing equipment and supplies
• Knowledge of heavy‑duty and industrial parts
• Skill in the use of personal computers, word processors and database management software
• Skill in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Skill in interpreting and evaluating manuals and catalogs

• Work Schedule:
  
  Full‑time 40‑hour week with either 4/10 or 5/8 schedule Monday‑Friday, Monday‑Thursday or Tuesday‑Friday. Position is covered under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime eligible.

• Physical Requirement:
  Must routinely lift packages up to 50 pounds and operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
