Material Handler, Distribution/ General Warehouse, Forklift Operator
Basic Purpose and Objective
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, uses the JD Edwards system to input receivers, loads and unloads trucks, retrieves and stores materials in the warehouse, counts and boxes parts, and makes necessary inventory transactions.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities- Uses computer to process receiving reports, shippers, Fed Ex, customs paperwork, UPS and pick lists.
- Reports shortages and damaged materials.
- Notifies supervisor or calls customer service when routing and carrier is not specified by customer.
- Arranges for pick‑up carrier when directed by supervisor.
- Completes bills of lading and shippers, following standard procedures.
- Loads and unloads trucks.
- Uses hand trucks and power trucks to move materials.
- Works from pick slips, work orders and stock requisitions to disseminate parts to the proper area or make ready for shipment.
- Does cycle counts and researches discrepancies when instructed by supervisor.
- Writes up and distributes all forms for incoming materials.
- Performs Shipping Handler and Clerk assignments.
- Reports production for metals when instructed by supervisor.
- Advises supervisor when supplies and packaging materials are low.
- Maintains cleanliness of department and immediate outside area.
- Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
Experience Required- Ability to read and write to follow quality and related instructions.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure; performs basic math operations with common decimals and fractions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Have or be able to obtain a Hilo license within the probationary period.
