Summary
King County Facilities Management Division (FMD) is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee day‑to‑day operations at the South Park Warehouse. The supervisor will manage a warehouse crew, coordinate ordering, stocking, inventory management, and distribution of bulk supplies and assets to and from department sites.
Job Duties- Plan, organize, schedule and coordinate daily activities of Distribution Center/Warehouse staff.
- Prepare assignments, approve schedules, leaves and vacations, resolve staffing issues, and provide coaching to staff.
- Develop and implement work‑site policies and procedures.
- Maintain smooth flow of warehouse/distribution operations, ensuring compliance with County and department guidelines, and record inventories per agreed frequency.
- Supervise processing of interoffice package deliveries and movement of materials to sites.
- Build vendor relationships.
- Monitor and process all orders, purchases, and blanket contracts; consult with County procurement specialists.
- Produce inventory reports for BOS Section and FMD Finance & Leadership.
- Manage department warehouse, coordinating inventories and bulk supplies, and supervise materials storage and handling.
- Monitor unit budget and expenditures.
- Possibly monitor staff delivery routes covering a County‑wide area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous warehouse management experience, including knowledge of warehousing and delivery operations.
- Experience in shipping and receiving, with familiarity with applicable inventory systems and ability to use database and spreadsheet applications.
- Lead/supervisor experience, with team building, coaching, counseling, and performance management.
- Demonstrated accuracy in inventory management.
- Safe operation and certification in forklift driving.
- Data entry and computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic math skills, organizational skills, and basic accounting principles.
- Effective communication, project and time management, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Basic understanding of building operations and required equipment and supplies for trades.
- Knowledge of public sector practices and operations, including planning, scheduling and public accountability.
- Experience with public sector accounting, inventory and asset tracking systems, such as Oracle and Maximo.
