The School Board of Highlands County is seeking a teacher. The position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution and certification by the State of Florida in the appropriate subject area. The candidate must also pass a criminal history records check and drug screening. The primary responsibilities include developing long- and short-term plans based on student needs, planning and preparing lessons and instructional strategies, creating a positive and safe learning environment, and managing time and materials effectively.
The teacher will also be responsible for instructing and supervising volunteers and aides, developing assessment strategies, and ensuring student growth and achievement. The position supports school improvement initiatives and performs other duties as assigned by the supervising administrator. The performance will be appraised annually, and the pay grade is according to the School Board of Highlands County Instructional Salary Schedule.
