Principal, Education Administration

Principal of a unique private school in a nature/forest setting using nature and practical arts instruction along with classroom academics to improve the quality of learning and development beyond most traditional school programs.

We're seeking a visionary and builder to take our existing school from 100 to 200 students over the next few years. Our ideal candidate will have held roles such as principal, assistant principal, director, or head of school. This individual should have a familiarity with Montessori or Waldorf curriculum and teaching methods. Our faculty is intellectually curious and are deeply involved in their particular disciplines.

Our Principal needs to come from a strong intellectual background to lead and manage this faculty, particularly a faculty that is constantly challenging the status quo of educational programming in K-12 with creative approaches.

You’ll have had a track record of scaling or growing schools, particularly in private or charter schools. Our culture has a very entrepreneurial spirit and we’re seeking a principal that fits in that vision and culture. We’re not seeking a traditional administrator or maintainer, but rather a visionary and intellectual leader of an exceptional team who is growth oriented - both in their own individual/personal knowledge and experience - and in moving a program from one level to another.

Although we are a screen‑free classroom environment, you’re recognized as embracing the use of technology for improving school operations, which could include knowledge and insight into the exploding variety of apps now being used at a school administrative/management level, such as tools for teacher evaluations, student evaluations, and CRM tools for managing parent, student and potential student enrollment.

Our goal is to take this model of a radically different learning environment and grow it by 25‑30 schools across the country over the next 5‑10 years. You’ll be in a pivotal role to help us refine that model and expand our schools nationally.
