Job Overview
Energy Efficiency Specialist I – Sebring, FL (12‑month contract with potential for extension). Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening with a large power and utilities client. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and can work on a Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.
CompensationPay: $23.00 – $28.00 per hour; W2 contract, no paid time off, no benefits. ACA‑compliant supplemental package available for enrollment.
DescriptionThe Energy Efficiency Specialist conducts on‑site energy analysis of residential customers’ premises and equipment operation. The role involves educating customers by presenting findings, motivating them to implement cost‑effective energy conservation measures, and supporting the company’s corporate goals while enhancing the customer experience.
Responsibilities- Collect technical data at customers’ homes or premises and analyze equipment operation.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform specialized inspections of duct systems, attic insulation, windows, roofing, appliances, and HVAC systems.
- Provide consultation on energy usage and operational improvements.
- Promote appropriate Energy Efficiency programs that bring cost‑effective benefits and align with corporate energy reduction goals.
- Meet program sales achievement targets relative to home energy checks.
- Inspect Energy Management systems to ensure reliability, availability, and compliance with client and National Electric Code standards.
- Provide full‑service technical support for the Energy Management Program and coordinate all field activities as a liaison among customers, contractors, and staff.
- Resolve customer concerns and technical inquiries.
- Follow through on behalf of customers with vendors, contractors, and Florida departments to improve sales outcomes and resolve issues.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and negotiate damage claims with customers and/or outside contractors.
- Follow up with each customer to confirm expectations were met and no questions remain.
- Participate in exhibit marketing, community events, and trade shows, achieving event goals.
- Contribute to marketing campaigns by identifying targeted customers using geographical and program knowledge.
- Identify opportunities for additional programs and services that best serve the customer and provide necessary information.
- Conduct training seminars for call center, service, and line personnel to ensure a clear understanding of Energy Management systems, high bills, energy audits, and efficiency programs.
- Establish strong relationships with local, state, and national trade and financial client organizations, and attend meetings, forums, and training sessions.
- Support storm restoration activities and special projects as assigned.
- Assist with logistical coordination of field activities during storm restoration.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3–5 years of related work experience.
- Energy Auditor Certification.
- Customer service skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Effective analytical, problem‑identification, diagnostic, and resolution skills.
- Knowledge of customer information systems (CSS).
- Working knowledge of energy‑efficiency practices.
- Consultative sales experience.
- Strong written and presentation skills.
- Experience in conflict resolution.
- General knowledge of utility regulatory environment.
- Work inside and outside customer homes, attic and crawl spaces, and includes transportation to multiple regions for home energy checks and related duties.
- Field mobility classification: work performed in various locations; employees must live within a reasonable commute to their assigned location.
- Must be capable of climbing, bending, lifting at least 25 lbs., and working in confined spaces.
- Must be able to pass clearance to wear a respirator for extended periods while in attic spaces or crawl spaces with elevated temperatures or particulates.
- Valid driver’s license.
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Energy Management.
