The Environmental Specialist II conducts advanced environmental health inspections, investigations, and enforcement across multiple programs including onsite sewage systems, food service establishments, swimming pools, schools, and public water systems within the Department of Health. The incumbent works relatively independently under supervision to ensure compliance with Florida Administrative Code and initiates legal enforcement when violations are identified.
Key Qualifications- Knowledge of Environmental Health Programs, Florida Administrative Codes, and Florida Statutes
- Ability to lift 40+ pounds and work outdoors for extended periods
- Ability to make observations, take measurements, and identify deviations from standards
- Proficiency with computer skills and various databases
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with diverse clients and officials
- Valid driver's license and ability to reach duty sites as scheduled
