Occupational Therapist (OT) – Florida School-Based
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide related therapy services within a public school setting. This school-based OT role involves working with students receiving special education services, supporting their physical, emotional, sensory, and self-care development to help them achieve IEP goals.
Key responsibilities include conducting assessments using diagnostic tools to evaluate fine motor, visual-motor, perceptual, sensory-motor, and self-care skills. Collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams, including teachers, therapists, and families. Develop and implement IEPs with measurable goals and objectives tailored to each student's needs. Deliver therapy sessions through individual, group, or consultative models based on IEP requirements. Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports.
Support student independence and participation in the academic environment.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program, National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), valid State Occupational Therapy License, educational/teacher certification if mandated by state guidelines, experience in pediatrics, sensory integration, neurodevelopmental therapy (preferred), and CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
