Job Summary And QualificationsWhat you will do:
- You will be familiar with and adhere to policies related to storage, handling, and disposal of RMW (regulated medical waste), RCRA/Hazmat, solid waste, and universal waste.
- You will maintain your Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Hazardous Waste training.
- You will clean waste holding and storage areas regularly.
- You will deliver clean linen to appropriate locations and remove soiled linens as needed.
- You will also help with the cleaning and preparing rooms before and after patients are discharged from the hospital.
- You will be familiar with safety and sanitation requirements of a healthcare facility.
- You will appropriately utilize various supplies and resources to maintain a clean environment for all staff, patients, and visitors within the hospital.
- You will store, handle, and dispose of materials and supplies used to perform your duties within the hospital and industry standards. This could include Hazmat, solid waste, and soiled linens.
- You will be interacting with patients, families, visitors, and other hospital staff as you perform your duties.
What qualifications you will need:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent preferred
- Experience in a healthcare setting highly preferred
- At least 1 year of professional housekeeping or janitor experience preferred

HCA Florida Highlands Hospital is a 126-bed acute hospital. We offer a full range of Emergency, Surgical and Inpatient and Outpatient services.
