Computer Technician 2 - School

Minimum Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of documented one (1) year successful experience and/or training in a computer technical trade.
  • Physical requirements:

    Ability to do strenuous physical tasks during the performance of duties, to include lifting up to 50 pounds, crawling, kneeling, bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, climbing, etc.
  • Satisfactory clearance of a Criminal History Records check and drug screening.
Additional Desired Qualifications

Mastery of proper use and care of equipment, tools and materials related to the particular trade or craft.

Primary Performance Responsibilities
  • Installs, maintains and repairs microcomputer, peripherals, and software throughout the school.
  • Assists in planning and implementing an annual school-wide preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Maintains a comprehensive computer database which will serve as an inventory of the school based computer, peripherals, and software.
  • Advises staff members on the proper operation of computer, peripheral equipment and software.
  • Troubleshoots and activates network connections.
  • Assists with database management.
  • Assists the District Technology Resource Teacher in training staff members on proper preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Assists school personnel with set up and use of technology equipment (i.e., projectors, interactive devices, digital cameras, printers, etc.).
  • Assists in completing technology surveys, reports, etc.
  • Serves on the school technology committee.
  • Updates skills in evolving school computer technologies on a regular basis.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned.

Term

Length of contract and number of hours worked are determined by specific allocation as approved annually during planning-budgeting process.

Appraisal

Performance will be appraised annually in accordance with School Board of Highlands County policies.

Pay Grade

According to the School Board of Highlands County Non-instructional Salary Schedule.
