Job Description

Manages the speaker’s bureau and coordinates community speaking engagements. Initiates and updates social media channels, maintaining the editorial calendar and collaborating with division and corporate teams on posting updates. Works with professional staff, graphic designers, printers, mail houses, and media vendors to ensure quality, timeliness, and cost‑effectiveness. Stays up to date on marketing trends and makes recommendations for activities and initiatives.

Monitors marketing activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, resolving any issues that arise. Other duties as assigned. Leads data entry and reporting for event management software. Serves as project manager for assigned marketing and communications projects, taking them from concept through implementation. Sources and manages inventory for promotional items and collaterals, interfacing with the campus print shop and purchasing supplies for events.

Leads event planning for both internal and external audiences, including town halls, presentations, and community events. Coordinates and organizes consumer and community‑driven events, including volunteers, catering, venue, and internal event team coordination. Manages department traffic and overall project planning, booking, and submitting artwork as needed to publications and agencies. Collaborates with the marketing team and colleagues across the organization to develop and implement marketing and communications initiatives.

Knowledge,

Skills, and Abilities
  • Fundamental knowledge of marketing and communications.
  • Strong computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Acrobat Pro. Basic knowledge of Publisher, Visio, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Adobe InDesign is preferred.
  • Hands‑on working knowledge of social media platforms for business, including Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, and You Tube. Demonstrated ability to grow consumer loyalty and followers.
  • Ability to implement initiatives independently with minimal supervision. Must be a self‑starter.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with sharp attention to detail. Strong project management skills are a requirement.
  • Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment, juggling multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and manage community and special events.
  • Ability to work well with others using tact and diplomacy. Must be a team player.
  • Ability to influence and coordinate efforts of other team members in support of marketing initiatives.
  • Ability to always display a professional manner and maintain confidentiality.
  • May be occasionally asked to work nights or weekends and represent the group at community events.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – with demonstrated ability to translate organizational needs into concepts and adapt writing style for specific audiences.
  • Proficiency in AP writing style standards.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to develop content and visuals for presentations.
  • Knowledge of communications and public relations procedures.
