Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join our Accounting Department in Secaucus, NJ. This role involves managing payment collections, account reconciliation, and supporting freight operations within a high-volume ocean transportation environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collections Management: Conduct payment follow-ups via calls and emails.
- Account Reconciliation: Investigate discrepancies, maintain accurate billing records, and provide account statements.
- Freight Coordination: Ensure timely import cargo freight release.
- Payment Processing: Assign and reconcile payments in the in-house system and Freight Payment Reports
. - Invoice Management: Create, update, and manage invoices.
- Check Handling: Utilize JP Morgan scanner for check processing.
- Customer Service: Resolve inquiries, disputes, and refund requests.
- Reporting & Accuracy: Reconcile system, payment reports, and scanner logs regularly.
- Team Support: Collaborate with internal teams for compliance and satisfaction.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in accounts receivable
, accounting
, or finance
. - Technical
Skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (
Pivot Tables
, VLOOKUPs
). - Industry Knowledge: Experience in ocean transportation
, logistics
, or freight operations preferred. - System Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP/IRIS system and JP Morgan scanner is a plus.
