Quality Assurance Assistant Manager - Secaucus, NJ

We are seeking a results-driven, innovative, and passionate leader to serve in the role of Assistant Operations Manager within our Quality Assurance Operations team for Brilliant Earth. The primary objectives of this position are to maximize efficiency, quality, and customer experience critical to Brilliant Earth’s success, while developing strong vendor relationships and maintaining customer delivery timelines. You will be responsible for ensuring items and finished product meet Brilliant Earth’s quality standards while supporting the timely flow of customer orders from receipt through final delivery, ensuring customer orders are received, processed, inspected for quality and shipped in an accurate and timely manner according to order specifications and delivery expectations.

You will be an instrumental leader of our operations team, which is dedicated to delivering excellence from the time a customer places an order to the moment a customer opens their package.

This role is in-office at our Secaucus location.

The targeted budget for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 annually. This compensation budget range may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of the company.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure product supply chain is well developed and maintained to ensure a superior customer experience, timely delivery, and a high level of operational efficiency.
  • Quality assure incoming products to ensure the highest quality standard is met by vendors.
  • Oversee customer delivery timelines to ensure orders are processed, completed, and shipped according to promised delivery expectations.
  • Review and verify all required paperwork, documentation, and order details for accuracy and completeness prior to shipment, ensuring shipping labels, product specifications, and final order details are thoroughly checked before orders are released to customers.
  • Maintain product security controls and ensure inventory accuracy is tracked throughout the product flow.
  • Formulate and implement systems, policies, and procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the business.
  • Proactively seek and implement process improvements to increase department efficiency, accuracy, and workflow effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and allocate tasks and resources to ensure operations run smoothly, including the use of forecasts to capacity to plan the team’s workload and implement real‑time adjustments as needed.
  • Assist with leading team members, including training, coaching, and measuring team success through metrics.
  • Lead by example and promote a positive, team‑oriented, and high‑energy culture.
Qualifications
  • BA degree or equivalent, preferred.
  • Experience with inventory / supply chain / production in a product, retail, or e‑commerce company.
  • Experience leading or managing teams, including setting and achieving goals.
  • Robust technical / computer skills, including working knowledge of ERP / inventory systems (Net Suite a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and metrics to drive improved team performance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong follow‑through and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Highly organized with a focus on execution, problem‑solving, and improving processes.
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing tasks.
  • Ability to think critically and adapt quickly in a flexible environment.
