Start Your Career in Public Service.The Georgia Department of Human Services has a Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) focused on locating non‑custodial parents, establishing paternity and support orders, enforcing and modifying support obligations, and collecting and distributing child support payments. DCSS also administers outreach programs such as Fatherhood, Prison Re‑Entry, and Parental Accountability Court, all dedicated to increasing non‑custodial parental involvement in their children’s lives.
Position:Business Support Analyst 3 (Instructional Designer)
This telework position requires occasional local DCSS office visits for training and business purposes.
Pay Grade: LUnder broad supervision, the Instructional Designer designs and develops a variety of instructional and training materials. Responsibilities include using software, design, and writing skills to achieve learning goals, conducting needs analysis, managing projects, and delivering high‑quality training through e‑learning and computer‑based learning on an LMS.
- Manage stakeholder relationships regarding instructional design needs and lead courses from concept to implementation.
- Develop and design curriculum with focus on consistency, clarity of content, grammar, and evaluation after launch.
- Analyze, design, develop, and/or update on‑demand courses using Articulate 360, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, or other eLearning authoring software.
- Manage the training lifecycle from analysis to delivery and evaluation using ADDIE and/or Agile methodologies.
- Design and deliver training as assigned by the Training Manager.
- Attend DCSS conferences providing on‑site support for audio/visual needs.
- Create learning objectives, design documents, storyboards, scripts, and other deliverables.
- Maintain instructional material templates and ensure consistency across learning deliverables.
- Develop engaging and innovative instructional materials that meet audience needs.
- Edit instructional and supporting materials for grammar, clarity, consistency, and accuracy.
- Design production of learning objectives in various formats including print, graphics, audio, and video.
- Engage cross‑functional teams and build rapport with stakeholders.
- Work with subject matter experts to understand, define, and capture training requirements and propose appropriate learning strategies.
- Perform needs assessment and audience analysis to identify performance gaps and training opportunities.
- Conduct research to develop and deliver training programs to employees.
- Apply project management, communication, and problem‑solving skills to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Coordinate, publish, and maintain training courses for LMS and other content management systems; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Conduct pilot testing and analyze evaluation data.
- Review metrics to determine training effectiveness, satisfaction, and ROI.
- Mentor new team members on instructional design processes and stakeholder engagement.
- Assist the Director and Training Manager with department goals, policies, and procedures.
- Provide recommendations for training initiatives and best practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant topics for inclusion in professional learning curriculum.
